you will need to make sure the amount of air going through the size of filter your using is enough for higher rpms and higher air demand. If the filter is clogged or restricted and or your using a exposed pod filter AHem. when you hammer on the throttle often the intake stretches a bit and will cause a lean condition at high rpm and not at low rpm lower gears lower speeds because at higher rpm and speeds it flexes a bit and sucks in the air. you should get 8k ohms total meaning the it can produce a sufficient spark up to the plug.Ĭheck the intake manifold between the carb and engine for cracks. you put on lead of the multimeter in the plug end and one lead onto one terminal at a time at the back of the coil with the meter on ohms/resistance. also while its off test the coil and wire with a multimeter to check its condition. you just cut the end strip it a bit and scre the spark plug cable back in and reinstall. you can sometimes over time let the spark plug wire unscrew it self through use unfortunately and cause a low spark which might in some cases only allow a ok ish running condition at low speeds. Ignition coil is at the front right side. Before I started having issues I had the bike at the Suzuki dealer to install my original TPS sensor because I bought a used throttle body that had a modified butterfly valve and bike was getting hard to start and running slightly strange (Rough) at times and when I had it the bike hooked up to lap top we thought the TPS sensor was the problem. I've changed coil, condenser,rectifier, IAP and TPS sensors had the Vortex tested at Vortex good and I also put a good used 15 fuel pump on that seems to pump more fuel then my original one. When I checked coil it was easy to get a reading and it was in spec. Shouldn't have had that hard of a time getting readings. A wet spark plug can indicate water in the fuel while a white residue on the plug can point to a plug that is too hot. melted electrodes are due to the same thing. A normal spark plug will appear dry with a grayish color. I had a really hard time getting OHM readings on the Stator, but once I did they were in spec.
